Who We Are
Weinstein Hospice is a not-for-profit organization offering a comprehensive array of services for adults who wish to manage their end-of-life health care needs in their homes. Our experienced team of healthcare professionals and trained volunteers are dedicated to alleviating pain and managing symptoms that interfere with the quality of living.
Atlanta is one of very few communities to have a home-based not-for-profit Jewish hospice. Since 1999, Weinstein Hospice has served over 1,300 families in our community with individualized homecare so patients can be among the people and things they love.
What We Offer
- Physical, emotional, social and spiritual support to each patient and family
- Individualized service within the context of Jewish traditions and values
- Bereavement support for families following the death of their loved ones
- Coordinated care among staff, volunteers, patients and families
- Staff availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- A collaborative partnership in care
Services will be provided where patient resides, whether in their own home, apartment, assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility.
The Hospice Team Includes...
- The patient's attending physician who remains responsible for medical decisions
- The Hospice Medical Director who offers medical consultation for symptom control
- The Hospice Director who manages staff and daily program operations
- Registered nurses who provide symptom control and manage the patient's medical needs
- Certified nursing assistants who provide personal care
- Social workers who provide emotional and family support including counseling, financial guidance and access to community resources
- Bereavement counselors who provide support for 13 months following the death of a loved one
- Compassionate trained volunteers who provide companionship, practical assistance and respite to caregivers
- A chaplain who is available to provide spiritual support
- Other consultants as needed
Referrals
Referrals may come from any source. The patient’s physician must approve and sign the hospice admission. Acceptance into hospice is based on the patient’s medical eligibility and the understanding, desire and need of the patient/family for hospice care as reviewed and determined by the hospice admission team.
In the event Weinstein Hospice does not best meet the patient’s need, referral to the appropriate agency will be suggested.

Payment
Medicare and most private insurance plans have a hospice benefit. However, we will provide care regardless of ability to pay.
The Vi and Milton Weinstein Hospice, Inc. cares for individuals regardless of age, sex, religion, race, national origin, mental or physical disability. We are a not-for-profit organization. All financial contributions are applied in full to provide patient care. We are affiliated with The William Breman Jewish Home, a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta.
