Cantor Donna Faye Marcus
Chaplain & Bereavement Coordinator
Cantor Donna Faye Marcus received her Master’s Degree in Sacred Music from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and was ordained as a cantor in 1993. While at Hebrew Union College, she completed a three-year chaplaincy internship at Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital in New York City. She also holds a degree in Vocal Performance from the Hartt School of Music.
Cantor Marcus has served congregations in Canada (where she was the first female cantor accepted into the Toronto Council of Hazzanim), New Jersey, Massachusetts and Georgia. Cantor Marcus began singing professionally at the age of 10, and has appeared in concerts, radio and theatre throughout North America, Australia and Israel. An accomplished choral conductor, she has led her choirs in performances at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Using the gift of song, she is able provide spiritual healing to those experiencing pain or anxiety. Cantor Marcus served as the Community Chaplain for Jewish Family and Career Services of Greater Atlanta from 2007-2011. She is currently the Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator for Weinstein Hospice and Palliative care in Atlanta.
She lives in Atlanta with her husband Michael and their two daughters.
